Christmas Crostini

Let me paint you a picture. Christmas tree is up. Heat is on. A pine scented candle is flickering away. Yes, it’s November. Deal with it. It was a great setting for a Christmas Cocktail get together. Recipes to which, I’d like to post at some point in time. But for now, a recipe for the most delicious holiday-themed crostini to keep the party going through several rounds of candy cane shots. The flavors are bright, warm and soothing and the bread soaks up a lot of liquor. Enjoy!

baguette
fig jam
Brie
whole-berry cranberry sauce
pistachios, shelled

Preheat your oven to 375.

Slice the baguette into 1/2″ thick slices. Place on a baking sheet.

Spread a generous amount of fig jam onto each slice.

Top with a slice of brie.

Followed by a spoonful of cranberry sauce.

Place in oven, center rack, for about 10 minutes, or until brie is nice and melty.

Remove from oven and top each slice with five-or-so pistachios.

Serve warm.
